Chlorine –

Pros:

• Less initial cost
• Long-standing tradition
• High reward if prepared to properly maintain

Cons:

• High maintenance cost, and constant, daily cleansing and measuring
• High risk if not well taken care of

Saltwater –

Pros:

• More self-sustaining, with rare need for cleaning
• Less chlorine used than regular chlorine pools
• Less irritation to sensitive skin and eyes

Cons:

• Higher starting cost
• More corrosive to surrounding materials
